Each lesson in this course has a 50-minute timer (required by the state). Once the timer finishes, a link to your test will appear at the bottom of the page.
Before you begin, a helpful tip about your computer’s sleep mode: Most computers automatically go to sleep after sitting unused for a few minutes โ and if your computer goes to sleep, your lesson timer will pause. To prevent this, we recommend turning off sleep mode in your computer’s settings before starting a lesson. Not sure how? No worries! Simply tap any key on your keyboard, scroll up or down the page, or wiggle your mouse every few minutes to let your computer know you’re still there.
While you are on the lesson page: Even if you finish reading the material and watching any videos before the 50 minutes is up, please stay on the lesson page until the timer expires. Leaving the page to check email or browse the web may also pause your timer and delay your test link from appearing.
When the timer reaches zero: Your test link will appear at the bottom of the page. If it does not appear right away, try refreshing your page:
- On a Windows computer, press the F5 key or click the reload symbol ๐ in your browser’s toolbar at the top of the screen.
- On a Mac, press โ Command + R or click the reload symbol ๐ in your browser’s toolbar at the top of the screen.
- On a tablet or phone, look for and tap the reload symbol ๐ in your browser’s toolbar.
After refreshing, if you notice that time has been added back to your timer, this means something running quietly in the background on your computer briefly interrupted the timer. Simply stay on the page and wait for it to count down again โ your test link will appear once it reaches zero!
